Mongolia Eagle Hunters by David Short
In October 2019, David travelled to Mongolia with the intention of documenting what is becoming the renowned Eagle Hunting Festival.
This traditional annual event sees Kazakh eagle hunters celebrate their heritage, with specially trained golden eagles, taking part in various events such as hunting, horse racing, and best turned out eagle and owner. During David’s trip, he stayed with several families immersing himself in their everyday life. This gave David the opportunity to photograph everything from collecting fire wood and herding sheep, to the high drama of a hunting expedition with the eagles.
